How to keep your garlic fresh?

Do you feel like you have purchased too much garlic? How do I store it so it’s still usable in a month?

The answer is simple:

• Cool

• Dry

• Dark

The best area for garlic to remain fresh is in your pantry, ideally in a wood or wire basket or a mesh bag so air can circulate and the garlic won’t get moldy.

In this manner, your hardneck garlic ( smaller. bulb with a hard stem in the middle) will last 4-5 months and your softneck braid will last up to 9 months. Of course in my household, I will use it up well before its expiration date.

Places to avoid:

• damp basement

• fridge

• inside a plastic bag or box
